Whether visiting a smoky hammam in the heart of Cairo or soaking in the lavender-ladened waters of an Italian bathhouse, experiencing the spa traditions of other cultures is our favorite part of traveling. It was the desire to recreate these fragrant moments in our own homes that led us to create Balneario - our love letter to those who pioneered, evolved and modernized our favorite guilty pleasure, a spa day. Balneario (bahl-neh-ah-ryoh)
Derived from the Greek word "balneae" meaning "bathhouse," Balneario is the name given to spa town resorts in Spain. From ancient bathhouses that served society's elite, to modern resorts that provide wellness retreats to visitors and locals today, the name Balneario is synonymous with spa.
